Franciscan Leadership – Serving, Learning, Leading June 12–14, 2012 Viterbo University – La Crosse, Wis.
The planning committee for the 2012 AFCU Franciscan Symposium invites undergraduate students to submit proposals for papers, posters, and presentations to be part of the breakout sessions at the June 2012 Symposium to be held June 12–14, 2012 at Viterbo University in La Crosse, Wis. An opening evening event and several sessions are being designed specifically for undergraduates.
The 2012 AFCU Symposium will focus on Franciscan Leadership. In the spirit of St. Francis, the symposium will be structured on the progression of becoming a servant leader. Servant leaders first serve the community they work with; through that serving they learn about the culture and their needs; and as a result are equipped to lead. These three verbs will be the focus and structure of this year’s Symposium content. These ideas will be formally addressed during the keynote session on Tuesday evening and the plenary sessions on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons. The break-out sessions are intended to explore these concepts in practical ways and to allow conference participants the opportunity to discuss the implications of Franciscan leadership from a variety of disciplinary perspectives.
