Franciscan Leadership Academy

Read about the AFCU’s newest initiative entitled Franciscan Leadership Academy.  This pilot program is designed to support the future of Franciscan higher education by promoting and fostering new, senior executive leadership for AFCU institutions.

Changes on AFCU Board of Directors

The terms of office on the AFCU Board of Directors expired in January 2011 for Sr. M. Elise Kriss, OSF (University of St. Francis, Fort Wayne, IN) and Dr. Robert C. Helmer, J.D. (Lourdes College, Sylvania, OH).  Each served on the AFCU Board for six years.  Sr. Elise served as Board Chair for the last three years and Bob served as Vice-Chair.  The AFCU honored Sr. Elise and Bob in a prayer service which took place during the Annual AFCU Membership Meeting in Washington, D.C. on Saturday, January 29, 2011.

Newly elected AFCU Board members are Dr. Sandra Harper (Our Lady of the Lake College, Baton Rouge, LA) and Dr. Thomas Flynn (Alvernia University, Reading, PA).  Sr. Margaret Carney, OSF (St. Bonaventure University, Olean, NY) was elected to the position of Board Chair.  Dr. Cynthia Zane (Hilbert College, Hamburg, NY) was elected Vice-Chair.
